From the last three weeks, or maybe, there is something that has been bugging me. Actually, there is a ton of stuff that has been bugging me, but this thing, in particular, can be shared.
You might have noticed that I wasn’t able to update this blog ( or my facebook page/Instagram profile ) from the last many weeks. There are multiple things responsible for that. One of which is that I am not able to figure out how I should continue this blog.
What this means is, there are two prime professions of mine. I am an author and have authored two crime fiction novels ( and I am working on two more which would be released soon ). Also, at the same time, I am a marketer. I own a content marketing agency ( not active currently ). I also do projects, I take writing gigs, and a ton more things under the marketing umbrella. So, I have two profiles in prime:-
Both of which are equally important. I have people who like me in both of these lines. I have people who love my book but don’t get what I do in marketing, and I have people who know me because of my blogger or marketer profile and have never read my books.
Both of these audiences consume different content. The people who are active on my author profile like to read about motivation, life, and similar things. However, the people who know me as a blogger or marketer would prefer to read content in that niche only. I can produce both of these content without any issues, but the problem is, when you publish content of one type on a blog, it garnishes a user base which loves to read that content.
Which basically means, that If I make this blog as my author profile ( which it currently is ), I lose all my marketing gigs and more. If I turn it into marketing blog, then the people who are more into my author side won’t be able to join in.
After thinking for a while, there are some possible ideas that I’ve come up with.
a. Make this blog as my author profile, and make a separate blog ( under my name ) as marketing blog.
b. Include both of the profiles on this blog itself. I’ll be then publishing content of both natures on this blog.
I’d love to know which option do you guys prefer and why. Also, if you have a new idea, leave it down in the comment section below.
